The Labrys

$48.00

The Labrys (or double-sided axe), is a tool found in ancient art that relates to feminine power and the Double Goddess, and is found in the iconography of early goddess worshipping traditions. The etymology is related to the same root as in the word “labia”, meaning double. The butterfly shape (and vertically, hourglass) also point to this symbol representing many other goddess-specific themes such as transformation and transmutation.

This Labrys is made from 24g sheet, 10g wire and 20g findings. It is held on a delicate but secure 18” silver cable chain.
