Amethyst Moon Eye
As part of the Beltane 2025 collection many Eye pieces came through. This Amethyst Crescent Moon Eye was the second one, and its movement was unlike any other piece I’ve created.
Wearing eyes is an ancient technology invoking protection to ward off the evil eye and ill intentions of others. It is said that the eye amulet takes on the ill intention, so that the person wearing it remains unaffected. Amethyst is well known as the “sober” stone, a reference to its Greek origins and the belief that it protected the wearer from excessive intoxication.
Different shapes, symbols, and archetypes help us to think in less linear ways and trust in wisdoms that are not spoken in words. It is no accident that so many eyes came forward in this collection, as we continue to be challenged through the current hardships of heteronormative capitalist colonial patriarchy.
Each eye in the spring 2025 collection was also crafted while I was in sādhanā (dedicated spiritual practice), and is impregnated with mantra and my own blessings of protection.
This piece is stamped on the reverse with the Full Desert Weirdo logo, and is slung on a dainty 18” sterling cable chain.
